Blue Shield Expands Trio HMO Service Area

Trio's service area has expanded to Kings and Fresno counties, in addition to extended coverage in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Tulare counties with additional zip codes.

Blue Shield Relaxed Participation:
25% or One Employee

Underwriting participation requirements remain relaxed for small business groups with 5 or more enrolled employees with just 25% participation required for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans through December 31, 2019. Groups that enroll in Trio-only plans can enroll with as little as one employee. Learn more.

Promotions on New Dental and Package Plans

Principal announced the following promotions on new small group (less than 200 lives) dental plans and package plans with effective dates of September 1, 2019, to January 1, 2020.

Rate Guarantees and Discounts

• 2-year rate guarantee on dental and short-term disability (STD) benefits for new business with three lines of coverage. 
• 3-year rate guarantee on life and long-term disability (LTD) benefits for new business with three lines of coverage.
• Cross-sell an existing case and receive a rate guarantee on the existing lines of coverage. 
• 6% discount on new dental cases with orthodontia and an 8% discount on new dental cases without orthodontia. No package sale is required.
