COVID-19 Treatment Cost-Share Waiver Extension

To help with the fight against COVID-19, Blue Shield will continue waiving member cost-shares for copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles through February 28, 2021 for COVID-19 treatment. This waiver was previously extended through January 31, 2021.

Blue Shield to Manage COVID-19 Vaccination Effort

To expand and accelerate COVID-19 vaccinations statewide, Blue Shield of California has been selected to efficiently and equitably manage the vaccine administration and distribution.

The new statewide vaccine distribution network, overseen by Blue Shield, will comprise a wide variety of locations at which vaccinations will be administered, including pharmacies, community health centers, and temporary pop-up locations.
