Here's the latest Coronavirus news impacting brokers and employers:
- Humana publishes Covid-19 Employer FAQs. Provides information on waived Covid-19 testing costs, waived telemedicine costs, early prescription refills, and member support line.
- UnitedHealthcare offers special Covid-19 Enrollment Opportunity to enroll employees who did not previously enroll in coverage.
- California DOI provides guidance for the insurance industry on how to interpret the term “Essential Businesses” in the recent California “shelter-in-place” order.
- CCSB reminds employers that employees who experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) such as a loss in coverage can apply for an individual plan with Covered California. Separately, Covered California also announces the extension of the individual exchange special enrollment period through June.
- Governor Newsom announces California statewide “shelter-in-place” order impacting all residents and businesses except those involved in “essential businesses.”
- Blue Shield provides Teladoc Health’s virtual care service at $0 cost.
- President Trump signs Coronavirus relief law which includes provisions for emergency paid leave for workers.
- The US Small Business Administration (SBA) is providing low-interest loans to help small businesses recover from the impact of the Coronavirus.
