Alex’s Way is dedicated to supporting those in need of organ transplants and their families by helping to remove obstacles that appear on their journey to transplant as well as obstacles post transplant. It is CAHIP’s desire to support these individuals financially, emotionally and spiritually, ensuring their journey is as challenge free as possible. Through community education and relationships with transplant facilities and area medical providers, we will work together to expand the opportunity for life saving transplant to as many individuals as possible. The gift of a life-saving organ comes with great loss on the donor’s side but by ensuring that those in need have access to and receive this gift, we can continue to bring life from loss and triumph from tragedy. Alex’s Way was created to continue the giving legacy of Alex Guedea who left us for heaven on June 15, 2012. Six days later the lives of Sammy Guedea, John Brown and Bernardino Perlita were saved. Each of them are today, enjoying a full and blessed life because of Alex’s unselfish gift of organ donation.
