The KFF 2024 Employer Health Benefits Survey provides a comprehensive analysis of trends in employer-sponsored health coverage. This year’s report covers premium trends, employee contributions, cost-sharing provisions, wellness programs, and new questions on provider networks, abortion coverage, family building benefits, coverage for GLP-1 agonists (weight loss drugs), and programs for lower-wage workers. The 2024 survey was conducted through 2,142 interviews with non-federal public and private firms with three or more workers.

Starting September 1, 2024, all Stanford Medicine providers and hospitals are in-network for Blue Shield Commercial HMO and PPO members. This includes Stanford Hospital, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Tri-Valley Hospital, Stanford Medicine Partners, and Packard Children’s Health Alliance.
However, Stanford Hospital and Stanford Medicine Partners are out-of-network for Blue Shield’s Individual and Family Plan (IFP) PPO and Trio HMO networks. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Packard Children’s Health Alliance, and Tri-Valley Hospital are in-network for these plans.

Effective November 1, Humana is expanding eligibility for their Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for California groups:
New: California groups of any size will now qualify for EAP when they purchase Humana basic life coverage.
This new option is in addition to the standard bundling option where groups must purchase three lines of group benefits coverage, including one line of disability.
