Principal – Privileged Partner Bonus Program

In addition to the Production Bonus and Persistency Bonus, Principal® announced their new Privileged Partner Program to reward top-producing brokers for new and retained business.

Privileged Partner Program

With two prestigious levels of recognition: Elite and Platinum, the Privileged Partner Program membership is based on the number of new Principal coverages, the premium persistency of the broker’s group benefits block with Principal, and for Elite qualifiers, the amount of inforce premium.

Qualification Criteria:

Additional Bonus

Elite and Platinum brokers can earn an additional bonus for placing and maintaining group benefits with Principal. New coverages must include at least five lives. Renewals are not included in this program.

Earn rewards for placing and keeping business with Principal. The more premium you retain the higher the bonus factor. The bonus applies to new business written through January 1, 2023.

Broker Rewards Program

Sell Delta Dental’s small group plans, including plans from their new Small Business Program portfolio and qualify for the retention and new sales bonuses. Effective dates from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 are eligible.

Retention Sales Bonus
Retain at least 90% of your book of business through 2021 and earn a bonus on your existing business and qualify for new sales rewards. The more you retain, the more you earn.

New Sales Bonus
Once you’ve met your retention goal, there are three levels of sales rewards. New sales bonuses are based on the number of new groups or total new premium received. And this rewards program is in addition to your existing standard small business commission.

2020 Principal Financial Well-Being Index Finds Businesses Growing

In its seventh edition released in July, the Principal Financial Well-Being Index for Business Owners gathered insights from 500 leaders at companies from 2 to 10,000 employees for a look at how COVID-19 has affected how they do business, how it’s impacted their customers and employees, and what they plan to do moving forward during recovery.

Four Big Takeways

  1. Businesses have tried to maintain staffing.
    – 76% haven’t cut staff.
    – The two most popular cost-saving options are a hiring freeze and other budget cuts (such as travel).
  2. Employee well-being remains a clear priority.
    – Fewer than 15% of businesses plan to reduce employee benefits. Some plan to expand them in response to COVID-19.
    – 21% plan to boost mental health and well-being programs.
    – 20% are increasing healthcare benefits.
  3. They’re adapting to uncertainty.
    – 66% of businesses expect to recover economically within a year.
    – Three popular reactions to COVID-19: increased cleaning (48%), more employees working remotely (39%), and increasing cash on hand (26%).
  4. Federal help is making a difference for small businesses and their employees.
    – One-third of small businesses (2-500 employees) received federal assistance.
    – 77% are spending the stimulus on payroll.
    – 58% are also spending assistance on employee benefits.
