LAAHU DEI 2021 Book Club

LAAHU DEI 2021 Book Club

Date: March 8, 2021
Time: 3:45 pm
Place: Online
Cost: Free

The LAAHU DEI* is launching a project based on Miles McPherson’s book, The Third Option.

Around the basis of a book club, LAAHU would solicit to all those that would have the interest to use The Third Option book to develop in-depth discussions on our racially divided nation. We would meet monthly for an hour to an hour and a half expecting everyone to weigh in taking only about 3 chapters at a time. We would expect to finish around September. As a grand finale, we would all take a trip down to San Diego where our hopes would be to personally meet with Miles McPherson.

If you would like to participate you would need to purchase a copy of the book and meet monthly via Zoom. The book can be found on Amazon.

At the end of each chapter, there are 3-4 discussion questions to be considered that relate to that chapters’ content. We will be using this for the basis of our conversation.

You can also expect a guest to visit with us for 10-15 minutes for a few of the meetings. Additionally, we will have a drawing for prizes at each meeting.

Meeting Agenda

  • Start with current topics of the day (10 minutes).
  • Quick review from last month (5 minutes).
  • List the questions to be answered – found at the end of each chapter (5 minutes).
  • Break Out Rooms – 5 people per room – select a spokesperson (25 minutes).
  • Back to the main where the Spokesperson will share for each group (20 minutes).
  • Conclusion (5 minutes).
