Starting July 1, Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) is offering new Blue Shield plans, providing more options for enrollees. These plans include the Access+ HMO Network with Platinum, Gold, and Silver metal tier options, as well as the Bronze Trio HMO 7000/70. The two most popular Blue Shield High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP), Silver Full PPO Savings 2300/25% and Bronze Full PPO Savings 7000 plans, are also now available.
All of these plans offer benefits such as Wellvolution, Teladoc Mental Health, Nurse Help 24/7, LifeReferrals 24/7, and the Blue Card program for when members are outside of California.

Are you ready for the new year? This program will prepare benefits professionals for the new year with a comprehensive review of the key laws and trends emerging from Sacramento.
We will discuss the insurance, benefit, and employment laws recently passed by the legislature that benefit and human resource professionals need to know about, and that will impact the design and implementation of health and welfare benefit plans. An update on recently issued federal benefit regulations will be included, supplemented with a discussion of recent legislative trends and developments on the federal, state, and local level.
Marilyn A. Monahan is the owner of the Monahan Law Office in Marina del Rey, CA. Marilyn focuses her practice on advising employers and consultants on compliance with employee benefit and insurance laws, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA. Her volunteer activities include serving as Secretary of the Employee Benefit Planning Association of Southern California (EBPA), and as an advisor to the Executive Committee of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA). Marilyn served on the Board of Directors for the Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) from 2008-2018, including as President (2015-2016).
