Rates

• Medical rates are changing for all health plans.

Plan Updates

• 19 new plans have been added for 2022; 11 Cigna + Oscar, 1 HealthNet, 1 Kaiser Permanente, and 6 UnitedHealthcare.
• 27 plans have been removed for 2022; 8 Cigna + Oscar, 13 Oscar, and 6 UnitedHealthcare.
• Oscar EPO health plans have been removed from the portfolio.
• UnitedHealthcare Harmony HMO network is expanding in Northern California.
• UnitedHealthcare Advantage network is being removed.
• Sutter has changed their Pharmacy Benefit Manager from Express Scripts to CVS Caremark.

CaliforniaChoice Reminder: Amendment to Agent Agreement

CaliforniaChoice has amended the Agent Agreement regarding Broker of Record (BOR) changes:

• Six Month Commission Consideration Eliminated
  When a group chooses a new broker during the first six months following the original sold effective date, the new broker shall begin receiving commissions the first of the following month, consistent with the new BOR effective date.
• 14 Day Rescission Period Eliminated
  Upon being awarded a BOR on an existing CaliforniaChoice group, brokers will now have immediate access to the group’s policy and plan information beginning on the date for which the BOR request is processed, eliminating the 14-day rescission period.

All existing CaliforniaChoice brokers are required to sign and submit the Agent Agreement Amendment. The previous version of the Agent Agreement will no longer be accepted.

Please sign and return the documents as soon as possible to commissions@calchoice.com or fax it to 714.908.3519. CaliforniaChoice is contacting brokers directly about the amendment.

CaliforniaChoice Q4-2021 Updates

To help you prepare for Q4-2021, below are the CaliforniaChoice updates.

Q4-2021 Rates

• Medical rates for October – December 2021 effective dates are available through PRISM, our free and easy online quoting system.
• Kaiser Permanente, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, and Western Health Advantage will have rate passes.
• Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, and Sharp Health Plan rates increased while Sutter Health Plus rates decreased.

Medical Zip Codes

• Sutter Health Plus added seven zip codes.
• Western Health Advantage added 25 zip codes for Humboldt County.

Additional Updates

• Mammoth HR is now Mineral™.
• Landmark added new rates.
• Updated Q4-2021 forms and materials will be available soon.

CaliforniaChoice July 2021 Updates

Below are the CaliforniaChoice benefit changes effective July 1, 2021:

Updates

UnitedHealthcare Silver HMO G

• Durable Medical Equipment $50 copay (deductible waived) is updated to 70% (deductible now applies).
• Hospice 100% (deductible waived) is updated to 70% (deductible now applies).
• The above updates have been reflected in the Benefit Summaries and Member Enrollment Guide July 1, 2021 – September 1, 2021, Rev. 6/8/21.

Anthem Blue Cross

• Benefit changes for the Gold PPO E, Silver PPO C, and Bronze PPO A and PPO B plans were inadvertently omitted from the Summary of Changes section of the Exciting News and Summary of Changes document.
• The above changes have been added to pages 13-16 of the Exciting News and Summary of Changes, Groups Renewing July 1 – September 1, 2021, Rev. 5/7/21.

Forms and Documents

• Updated materials are available on calchoice.com.

Note: the above changes do not affect the initial or enrollment quote, renewal quote, or employee renewal enrollment worksheet. This information will also be sent to all July through August 2021 new and renewing groups.

CaliforniaChoice & ChoiceBuilder Agent Agreement Amendment

CHOICE Administrators has amended the CaliforniaChoice and ChoiceBuilder Agent Agreement. The revisions are listed below.

Agent Agreement Revisions

• Six Month Commission Consideration Eliminated
  When a group chooses a new broker during the first six months following the original sold effective date, the new broker shall begin receiving commissions the first of the following month, consistent with the new Broker of Record (BOR) effective date.
• 14 Day Rescission Period Eliminated
  Upon being awarded a BOR on an existing CaliforniaChoice group, brokers will now have immediate access to the group’s policy and plan information beginning on the date for which the BOR request is processed, eliminating the 14-day rescission period.
• New Commission Payment Methods
  Brokers will be required to receive commissions via direct deposit or a new pre-paid debit card.

To avoid any commission payment interruptions, please sign and return the Agent Agreement Amendment as soon as possible to commissions@calchoice.com or fax it to 714.908.3519.

CaliforniaChoice & ChoiceBuilder ARPA COBRA Premium Subsidy Updates

CHOICE Administrators has provided updated COBRA (Federal) and Cal-COBRA premium subsidy information regarding The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA).

• CaliforniaChoice Notice of Assistance Eligible Individuals (AEI) Form
• ChoiceBuilder ARPA COBRA and Cal-COBRA Information
• Department of Labor FAQs and Model Notices

Your groups should review the updates and submit the completed Notice of AEI Form (for those who opted into the COBRA Subsidy) by June 14, 2021 to COBRA-APRA@calchoice.com or fax it to 714.908.3549.
