Humana – Jet Dental Pop-Up Dental Clinics

Effective immediately, Humana is partnering with Jet Dental® to offer onsite pop-up dental clinics for employer groups. These pop-up dental clinics offer easy and convenient onsite dental services to members at no cost to the employer. This service is available to all commercial groups with Humana Dental PPO plans. DHMO plans will be coming soon.

All Jet Dental providers are considered in-network with Humana PPO dental plans.

Set up is simple. The employer group picks a date. Jet Dental then sends an email to employees with a link to their booking tool. With a minimum of 20 appointments, the event is provided at no cost to the employer.

The most common procedures are preventive (exams, cleanings, x-rays) but other services such as cavity filling and deep cleaning can also be provided. And Glo Professional Teeth Whitening is available at a discounted rate.

For added peace of mind, Jet Dental follows all OSHA, ADA, CDC, and State Dental Board Rules and Regulations regarding patient safety and COVID protocols. All Jet Dental employees wear full PPE and additional protocols are in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Humana – No Dental Waiting Periods for Groups with 5+ Enrolled

Effective November 1, 2021, dental waiting periods are being eliminated on new and existing groups that meet these criteria:

• Employer-sponsored.
• Group size is 5+ enrolled.
• Groups currently enrolled (still in their waiting periods) and new business (in the process of enrolling) in a 2019 generation dental plan.
• New business with an effective date of November 1, 2021, and beyond who are enrolling in a 2019 generation dental plan.

This change does not apply to late applicants waiting periods, voluntary groups, groups with two to four enrolled, groups currently enrolled or enrolling in any dental plan except generation 2019.

2021 Broker Bonus Program

Broker Rewards Program

Sell Delta Dental’s small group plans, including plans from their new Small Business Program portfolio and qualify for the retention and new sales bonuses. Effective dates from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 are eligible.

Retention Sales Bonus
Retain at least 90% of your book of business through 2021 and earn a bonus on your existing business and qualify for new sales rewards. The more you retain, the more you earn.

• 3% bonus when you retain 90%-94.9% of your existing business.
• 4% bonus when you retain 95%-100% of your existing business.

New Sales Bonus
Once you’ve met your retention goal, there are three levels of sales rewards. New sales bonuses are based on the number of new groups or total new premium received. And this rewards program is in addition to your existing standard small business commission.

• Level 1: 3% bonus – 5 new groups or $150,000-$499,999 new premium.
• Level 2: 4% bonus – 15 new groups or $500,000-$999,999 new premium.

Multi-Product Advantage

Earn 1.5% additional broker compensation when selling dental plus two coverages.
How it works:

• Step 1: sell a dental plan and at least two new coverages from two or more different product groups.
• Step 2: verify qualifying criteria and ensure that each case has dental coverage, 10-99 eligible lives, and 10+ lives enrolled in each product. All coverages must be sold and implemented at the same time.
• Step 3: earn an additional one-time payment of 1.5% of the annualized premium for each product sold.

To earn a bonus, sell new specialty lines of coverage with the same employer group and initial effective dates of coverage between August 1 and December 31, 2021. Sell stand-alone specialty lines of coverage, or add specialty lines of coverage to a new or existing Humana group medical customer.

Small Group – 5-99 Eligible Enrolled Employees

• $500 bonus when you sell dental (5 enrolled) + vision (2 enrolled) coverage.
• $1,000 bonus when you sell dental (5 enrolled) + vision (2 enrolled) + life coverage.

Large Group – 100+ Eligible Enrolled Employees

• $1,000 bonus when you sell dental + vision coverage.

Coverage Features

Dental

• Unlimited Annual Maximum plan available for all types of services, including Implants.
• Extended Annual Maximum included on $1000, $1500, and $2000 maximums – 30% coinsurance coverage after network discount and maximum benefit is reached. Does not apply to implants or ortho services.
• Waive preventive services rider on Annual Maximum (same as DPM on Delta).
• No waiting period for 10+ enrolled.
• Ortho available for child only and/or adult and child on 2+. Invisalign is covered as an alternative treatment for ortho, subject to policy provisions.
• 12-month rate lock.

Starting with new business effective January 1, 2020, all PPO, Preventive Plus, and traditional Preferred plans will include these new features in preventative services:

• Additional routine cleaning and exam now includes three routine cleanings and exams per calendar year (two previously allowed).
• Periodontal cleanings are now covered as a preventive service (100%). Four periodontal cleanings per calendar year now covered under preventive services (previously these cleanings were covered as a basic service, subject to deductible and coinsurance)
• Increased age limits on select services. Sealants and topical fluoride treatment are now covered through age 16.
• Out-of-network (OON) preventive services are now being reimbursed at the 95th percentile and will result in 93% of OON claims being covered in full. OON urgent care for basic and major services is reimbursed at the 90th percentile.

Vision

• $100, $130, $150, $160, and $200 frame allowance options.
• No employer contribution required.
• Three plan platforms (Exam Plus, Full Coverage, Materials Only).
• EyeMed Insight nationwide network includes both retail providers and private practice doctors.
  – 75,000+ participating providers (52,000 independent/22,000 retail).
• 2-year rate lock.

Basic Life/AD&D

• Conversion/waiver of premium.
• Accelerated death benefit.
• AD&D riders included: seat belt/airbag/helmet, paralysis, repatriation, common carrier, education benefit, child care benefit, and coma.
• Optional dependent coverage.
• Three age reduction schedules available (#3 offers the best).
• 2-year rate lock.

Voluntary Life (Participation – Five Lives Enrolled)

• Increments or percentage of salary up to $500,000.

With Humana’s Extended Annual Maximum, employees won’t have to worry about maxing out their benefits and put off important dental procedures for themselves or their covered dependents.

The Extended Annual Maximum is available immediately after the annual maximum for a plan is reached, and there’s no cap on the dollars paid in a year. Plus employees can save money with access to network discounts and 30% coinsurance, even after their annual maximum has been reached (does not apply to implants or ortho services.)
