Virtual care includes $0 unlimited visits to primary care, behavioral health and specialty care through a new partnership with AccoladeCare. In-person care is available through the Tandem PPO network in California and via BlueCard when outside of the state.

MetLife Reunites with Snoopy for Pet Insurance

Posted by

MetLife has teamed up with Snoopy, the iconic Peanuts character, to market its pet insurance through employee benefits programs. Remarkably, MetLife had a 30+ year relationship with Snoopy from 1985 until 2017 – when they separated from their life and annuity business.

Despite the rising number of pet owners in the US, only a small percentage (less than 3%) of pets are currently insured. MetLife aims to change this by educating pet parents about the benefits of pet protection for safeguarding personal finances and improving their pet’s well-being.

MetLife’s research indicates that in 2022, 84% of pet parents experienced higher pet care costs, and 50% of them worry that the escalating costs will make it difficult for them to continue being a pet parent. In addition to rising prices for routine care and pet necessities, pet parents may also have to deal with exorbitant bills they may not be able to afford for emergency vet visits, surgeries, or extended hospital stays.

According to MetLife’s 20th Annual Employee Benefit Trends Study (EBTS), 65% of employees with pets are currently interested in their employer offering pet insurance.

As the leading pet health insurance provider in the workplace, MetLife’s affordable, extensive coverage includes:

With Snoopy’s help, MetLife hopes to raise awareness about pet insurance and its benefits – which means more pets receive the care they need, and pet owners can remain worry-free. Learn more.

MetLife Annual Employee Benefit Trends Study 2023

Posted by

The latest MetLife study has revealed that in times of talent shortages and economic uncertainty, employee care has emerged as a powerful force.

As a benefits advisor, it’s important to recognize that companies are currently adapting to the new dynamics in employment relationships and assessing the impact of an extended slowdown on their workforce needs. Despite the changes in recent years, the good news is that employee benefits continue to play a vital role in the value proposition organizations offer their workers.

Businesses that prioritize employee care will be best positioned to achieve their talent management goals, even in challenging economic conditions. Investing in employee care can not only provide support to financially stressed workers, but can also boost productivity and retention, ultimately benefiting the bottom line. In short, there are clear benefits for both employees and organizations. Thus, it’s not a question of whether organizations can afford to invest in employee care, but rather whether they can afford not to.

MetLife’s 21st Annual U.S. Employee Benefit Trends Study 2023, The Advantages of Employee Care: Creating Human-Centric Employee Experiences and Work Environments, provides actionable insights to help you recommend a benefits mix for employers that can help them demonstrate care for their employees to drive higher job satisfaction, worker loyalty, engagement, and productivity.

MetLife – August is National Eye Exam Month

Posted by

Founded in 1989 by Sears Optical, National Eye Exam Month was established as a way to educate the public about eye health and safety.

Comprehensive eye exams are one of the most important aspects of preventative health care, namely because many eye diseases and disorders can be detected in the early stages. Even if your vision is perfect and you are without problems, a comprehensive eye exam may say otherwise. An eye exam does more than just test your vision. It can provide insight regarding your overall health and wellness.

Why National Eye Exam Month is Important

Remind your employer groups to celebrate National Eye Exam month by scheduling their eye exams and getting their eyes checked regularly as part of their annual healthcare routine.

How Brokers Can Leverage National Eye Exam Month

Use National Eye Exam Month as an opportunity to discuss the advantages of vision coverage and help your groups save money with MetLife’s flexible and comprehensive benefit options.

With the addition of Davis Vision and Superior to the MetLife portfolio earlier this year, large group members now have access to one of the largest provider networks in the country. Plus, exceptional service and claims experience make it easy for employers and employees to manage and use vision care benefits. Get the details.

Davis Vision by MetLife Offers:

Great value and an extensive retail network that delivers lower out-of-pocket costs for members.

MetLife Annual US Employee Benefit Trends Study 2022

Posted by

Employees needs have changed drastically in just a few short years due to an increasingly diverse workforce, a pandemic, and the lowest job satisfaction rate in 20 years. Today’s workers expect employers to recognize the importance of their lives inside and outside of work.

Benefits are a powerful tool for serving the whole employee and meeting the needs of the entire organization. That’s true not only in the intense competition to win talent, but also in enabling and equipping employees to be their best, both at work and in their personal lives. In this ‘Age of the Employee,’ organizations that offer compelling benefits will be better positioned for success in these uncertain times.

MetLife’s 20th Annual U.S. Employee Benefit Trends Study 2022, The Rise of The Whole Employee: 20 Years of Change in Employer-Employee Dynamics: Reimagining the Healthcare Employee Experience, provides actionable insights to help you recommend a benefits mix for employers that can help them satisfy the complex and divergent needs of their employees.
